Silver Birches
This contemporary courtyard garden was designed to create a series of outdoor living spaces, including an oak garden pavilion, a private yoga studio and carefully detailed planting within an enclosed landscape.
Silver Birches is an elegant country residence in the north east of Ireland. Andrew Christopher Garden Designs was commissioned to produce a design for the property that would mark a new chapter in the client’s life. This had been a great family home but now as the children had moved on and the practicalities of family life were less dominant, our clients wanted to inject a little luxury into their home.
We produced a detailed plan for the entire property that included increased parking and improved front of house with a hidden courtyard garden to the rear. This sheltered, private garden is where our clients spend most of their time. The courtyard features beautiful planting, a large dining area, raised lawn, timber boardwalks, Yoga studio and Oak garden pavilion. This stunning oak framed pavilion is a one off, designed by us here in the studio. It allows views of the garden while receiving shelter from the sun.
The oak frame pavilion is complemented by charred larch cladding, bronze lighting and at its centre is a beautiful Corten steel stove that doubles as a pizza oven.
If you are still feeling stresses, a purpose build Yoga studio at the end of the garden is just what the doctor ordered.
