The Reflection Garden
Designed to capture the evening sun, this contemporary Irish garden is centred around a large reflection pond that brings calm and stillness to the landscape. Floating limestone stepping stones appear to hover across the water, creating a striking focal point while allowing visitors to move gently through the space.
A carefully detailed granite water rill feeds the pond with a quiet, continuous flow, introducing movement and sound without disturbing the tranquillity of the garden.
The layout of the garden is strongly aligned with the architecture of the house and garden studio, creating long views across the water and towards the surrounding countryside. Clipped beech hedging frames the central axis, revealing moments of surprise as the visitor moves through the garden.
The result is a contemporary formal garden that balances structure, water and planting to create a calm and contemplative outdoor space.
